
Alfagih brothers from Benghazi, Libya, Mohammed Alfagih, a player in al-Ahli sports club Benghazi, one of the oldest clubs in the history of Libya, and Abdulatif Alfagih his brother, the player of al-Ahly’s number one rival club in Benghazi, Al-Nasr.
Mohammed and Abdulatif play in different clubs with different numbers and in different positions basketball, but at the end of the day, they have one family and one house.
The Alfagih brothers are a rare example of Libyan youth who have used sports to protect their future, and the sport has protected them, their mother has mentored them through all of their life after the death of their father.
We have used this story and other stories to create videos to promote the role of sports in youth development and peacebuilding.
